The
Knights of the Auto Order Proudly Present: The Auto Body Estimate: Vol. II,
#50a (Email-only), July 2002
Last year I spent the 4th of July in Max's backyard - eating, drinking and playing with the dogs. Around sunset it actually got a little cool and seeing a fire pit in his yard I suggested that we start a fire. "We've never had a fire", Max admitted. "The previous owners left a big stump behind, but no kindling." I asked Max where he kept his lawn mower and he pointed me around the house to a little shed where I found a can of gas.
Just as my dad would do, I poured a little gas on the big log. Then a little more. Then I emptied the can.
Becca and I stopped Max as he walked towards the fire pit with a little grille igniter and convinced him instead to light some newspaper and toss that in the pit. We then witnessed a spectacular twenty foot pillar of flame.
Here's hoping your 4th of July is every bit as spectacular AND that you are able to retain your eyebrows.
Speaking of foolishness, the Auto Body Experience will appear on the KARE 11 Today Show on Tuesday, July 9. The show airs from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. We'll probably play one song in its entirety and play three or four short excerpts as "teasers". If you share my prowess with electronic devices, and you start working on it now, you might just figure out how to program the VCR to automatically record the show by next Tuesday.
We'll also be promoting our upcoming gig at the launch of the Habitat 500 bike ride on Saturday, July 9. For more details on this event, please visit our web site at http://www.autobodyexperience.com - click on Estimates and check out #50. If you're anywhere near Sartell, Minnesota, please come and see us play for free!
Finally, even though it's still tentative at this point, it looks likely that we'll be back at O'Gara's on Friday, August 9th; details will follow.
Best wishes for a safe and happy 4th of July,
Scott Yoho and The Auto Body Experience
